Because she was refreshingly honest about the true plight of being a woman:

Because she crashed this Game of Thrones cast pic and actually lived to tell the tale.

“I was so comatose so when Rex dragged me I knew something was wrong, and I wouldn't be alive without that dog," Lucas told CTV News.

With Rex by her side, Lucas saved herself as well as other pets from the house. Sadly, the home burned down. But now the town of Vonda, Saskatchewan has given the family a rental property to stay in, and the community is offering them support.

An Ottawa couple who run a honey business say two of their beehives were stolen over Christmas. Each beehive contains a cluster of about 15,000 bees.

Marianne Gee told BuzzFeed Canada her husband Matthew went to check on the bees on Boxing Day after "unusually warm weather on Christmas Eve" only to find they had disappeared.

“It was definitely pretty shocking," Gee said. "He’d been there a week earlier."

The couple, who run the Gees Bees Honey Company, own about two dozen beehives that they rent out to homeowners and businesses around Ottawa as a source of locally-produced honey.

“I’ve never heard of anyone stealing bee hives before," Gee said. "I suspect it was someone who was interested in keeping bees and maybe wanted a couple new bee hives for Christmas. It was pretty unusual."

Marianne and Matthew Gee started their honey business a decade ago, after discovering a colony of honeybees on the side of their house.

Gee said her husband wanted to remove the bees without the use of pesticides but couldn't find many options for homeowners. So he removed the colony himself and moved them into a proper beehive. The two of them have been keeping bees ever since.

“We’re totally in love with honeybees," Gee said. "They’re absolutely amazing creatures. I learn something new about them every day.”

She said she was baffled by why someone would steal beehives.

"It would have to be someone who knows enough about bees to be interested, but not enough to know not to move them in the winter.”

Honeybees cluster together over winter for warmth, and Gee worries whoever took the hives might break up the clusters and kill all 30,000 bees as a result.

She said it costs $400 to $500 to replace a hive, though she's not too worried about her business.

“It’s not devastating, but we’re sad because we had our bees stolen.”

Everlane's CEO Explains The Logic Of Its "Choose Your Price" Sale

The online retailer is offloading excess inventory in a novel way. Are some customers willing to pay more than the lowest possible price?

Everlane / Via everlane.com

Everlane, like many retailers, is holding a big sale right now to get rid of excess merchandise, from shoes to sweaters. But in a twist, the online-only clothier is letting consumers pick from one of three prices on each item, betting that some people won't go for the lowest one.

Each item that's part of the "Choose Your Price" sale displays three discounted prices. On a $75 sweater, for example, the discounted prices are $32, $39, or $68. The cheapest price covers Everlane's production and shipping costs, while the second goes a step further, covering that plus "overhead for our 70-person team." The highest price, which is only $7 less than the sweater's original price, includes all of that and also allows Everlane to "invest in growth." ("Thanks!" the description adds.)

Everlane founder and CEO Michael Preysman told BuzzFeed News that the sale drew inspiration from Radiohead and the Metropolitan Museum of Art. Radiohead, in 2007, successfully allowed fans to pay whatever they wanted to download its new album, while the Met technically only charges a "recommended" admission fee that people tend to pay.

"We've literally never put anything on the site on sale," said Preysman, who launched Everlane four years ago. "Everlane's obviously for profit, so for most people, we were trying to explain how sales work and how we think about them, and maybe for those with a stronger affinity, they may have wanted to contribute in a way beyond that."

Everlane / Via everlane.com

The promotion began this weekend and will run through Thursday, Dec. 31.

This reporter was skeptical of how many people would choose to pay something other than the lowest price. After all, consumers are value-hungry these days — and paying the highest price doesn't give you anything tangible. Like, you know, a keychain, or a pin, or a future discount.

But Preysman said that in a small test of existing customers about a week ago, roughly 10% of people chose either the middle or highest price points.

"If I had to guess, because we haven't selected it this way, they might have bought two things at the lowest price and one thing at a mid-price," he said.

Preysman said he was more involved than he would normally be in the promotion's presentation and limiting the sale prices to three distinct choices. The company also considered making it a "name your price" sale, but that got too confusing, he says.

"There's quite a bit of psychology on how you explain this, and how people click through on it," he said. "We tried to simplify the concept as much as possible."

As for why someone would pay more than the lowest price, he said: "It's the affinity ... If you're honest and transparent with people, then they'll sort of treat you with decency in return."

* 6 eggs
* 1/2 cup milk
* 2 tsp cinnamon
* 2 tsp vanilla
* 1 cup maple syrup

Directions:
Pour the allotted butter on the bottom of a 9×13 glass baking dish. Cut each cinnamon roll into eight pieces, and spread evenly over the butter. In a separate bowl, whisk the eggs, milk, cinnamon, and vanilla, and pour over the cinnamon rolls. Pour one cup of maple syrup over the mixture. Bake at 375°F (190°C) for 25 minutes. Top with the icing from the cinnamon rolls.

Cheesy Bacon Egg Cups

Cheesy Bacon Egg Cups

Here's what you need to make six bacon and egg cups:
* 3 slices of bread
* 3 Tbsp. shredded cheese
* 6 slices of bacon, cooked
* 6 eggs
* Salt and pepper

Directions:
With a jar or cookie cutter, cut two circles into each piece of bread. Place in muffin tin cups. Wrap a piece of cooked bacon along the edge of each muffin cup — make sure the bacon is JUST cooked and still warm, so it doesn’t break or crumble. Sprinkle half Tbsp. of cheese into each cup, then top with an egg. Season with salt and pepper, and bake at 400°F (204°C) for 15 minutes (longer for firmer yolk). Top with green onion.

A man died and was left decomposing for two weeks in his car after he refused emergency services and said "they" would take care of his body.

Jeffrey Lash was found decomposing in his car on July 17, more than a week after his fiancée, Catherine Nebron, claims he died after refusing emergency help. Nebron's attorney told the local ABC affiliate that his client drove Lash's body from Santa Monica to his home in the Pacific Palisades, where it was later found decomposing.

But it was what investigators found after Lash died that makes his story so intriguing. Police found "1,200 guns, scopes, 6.5 tons of ammunition, bows and arrows, knives, machetes and $230,000 in cash" in his home, ABC-7 reported.

Oh, and one of 14 vehicles registered to him and stashed in different locations around Los Angeles was an SUV designed to drive underwater. Who was Jeffrey Lash?
