"I was getting up very early, going to a friend’s house to get all my gear, going to classes and doing dives, then coming back to the friend’s house, showering, completely drying my hair, and then putting product in so it didn’t look like I’d just washed my hair, then going home."

90-year-old Bill Moore was reunited with a lost love letter he wrote to his wife Bernadean during World War II.

After Bernadean died, many of the love letters were lost — until a stranger found one of the letters in the sleeve of an old record at a thrift shop.

ABC News / youtube.com

My darling, lovable, alluring, Bernadean,

I ran out of space, but I could have written a lot more adjectives describing you. You are so lovely, darling, that I often wonder how it is possible that you are mine. I'm really the luckiest guy in the world, you know. And you are the reason, Bernadean. Even your name sounds lovely to me.
It's just when I get so horribly, terribly lonely for you that I write letters like this. I have never been so homesick for anyone in my life as I am for you.

23 Of The Most Romantic Love Songs From 2015

All of the love songs we loved this year.

Ellie Goulding, "Love Me Like You Do"

Ellie Goulding, "Love Me Like You Do"

Say what you will about the Fifty Shades of Grey movie — the soundtrack is great. Like, really, truly, Beyoncé-is-on-this-thing great! But, while most of the film’s music paints in ~shades of lust~, Ellie Goulding’s contribution, “Love Me Like You Do,” is pure bliss. Built like a cathedral of synths, the song is toweringly romantic and unapologetically sweet.

Swoonworthy lyric: "You're the light, you're the night / You're the color of my blood / You're the cure, you're the pain / You're the only thing I wanna touch"

Polydor Ltd

Selena Gomez, "Good for You"

Selena Gomez, "Good for You"

Selena Gomez transitioned into adult pop stardom this year with a whisper, not a shout. Literally. Her first post-Disney single — the hushed, R&B-inspired "Good for You" — is sung in a sexy, vowel-breaking whisper. The result is like pillow talk, only catchier.

Swoonworthy lyric: "Let me show you how proud I am to be yours / Leave this dress a mess on the floor / And still look good for you, good for you"

SelenaGomezVEVO

Fetty Wap, "My Way (feat. Monty)"

Fetty Wap, "My Way (feat. Monty)"

On "My Way" time slows to a syrupy wooze as the rapper tries to impress the object of his affection with come-on after come-on. It's equal parts charming and desperate. It's charmingly desperate. There’s something about Fetty Wap’s Auto-Tuned warbling that sounds like the way infatuation feels — uncontrollable and ecstatic.

Swoonworthy lyric: "I spotted you, you had that glow / Watch me pull out all this dough / Take you where you want to go"

harlem fetty

Carly Rae Jepsen, "Run Away With Me"

Carly Rae Jepsen, "Run Away With Me"

Nobody crushes like Carly Rae Jepsen crushes. Fluttery feelings of romantic possibility take on cosmic shadings and become something grander in her hands. Three years ago, she made giving your phone number to a stranger sound fated on her bubblegum masterpiece, “Call Me Maybe,” and, this year, she’s imbued her best new song, “Run Away With Me,” a sax-inflected, end-of-the-night anthem, with a real sense of destiny.

Swoonworthy lyric: "Oh baby, take me to the feeling / I'll be your sinner, in secret / When the lights go out / Run away with me"

10 DIY Projects We Totally Failed At In 2015

We literally get paid to do this for a living…and yet…

And even though, for the most part, we do practice what we preach...sometimes we do not live up to these ideals.

This attempt at making vodka-infused Gushers:

This attempt at making vodka-infused Gushers:

We really wanted to infuse fruit Gushers with vodka, like you would a gummy bear. Seems legit, right? Imagine biting into a Gusher and getting both sugary syrup AND vodka. Well, not so much. After soaking for a few hours, they were just a sloppy, weirdly waxy mess. And the vodka in the bowl had turned brown and tasted (yes, I tasted it) DISGUSTING. —Natalie Brown, associate lifestyle editor

The great giant balloon disaster:

The great giant balloon disaster:

Like all good Instagrammers, the BuzzFeed DIY team is obsessed with these giant balloons that spell things out. Especially when they spell out dirty and/or curse words. There's just something about a giant metallic FUCK YOU that feels so festive yet unserious. So when our DIY Instagram got 100K followers, we decided to get some celebratory balloons to photograph. But no one told us what a pain in the ass these things are to stage!! For one, they don't stay together for shit, and even if you can magically get them to stay on the same level for one minute, there's no way they will be in the right order. And a giant "010" just doesn't really do it. Cut to an hour and several popped balloons later (which, for the record, are also not cheap), and there's me crouching on the floor trying to stay out of the frame while keeping these horrible monstrosities in line.

We EVENTUALLY figured it out using the magic of Photoshop and cropping and our top-notch photo team. But if I never see those bullshit word balloons again it will be much too soon. —Jess Probus, DIY editor

The campaign asked people to respond to a Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) consultation paper saying that they are in favour of Free Basics being launched.

“Consultation papers are not opinion polls. We have asked a question on differential pricing and people have responded saying they love Free Basics,” Sharma said.

The deadline for the consultation paper has been pushed to January 7 to allow people to send relevant responses to TRAI's actual query about differential pricing and net neutrality.

"We have extended the deadline for them to come up with the right answers, not just saying, 'I love Free Basics.' I never asked about Free Basics,” Sharma explained in The Hindu report.

Outrage As Banks Dodge "Behaviour" Inquiry

Banks have avoided a potential public whipping from the Financial Conduct Authority after the body announced it would no longer carry out an investigation into whether the culture and behaviour inside banking – such as the awarding of bonuses – contributed to past misconduct.

The Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) is being accused of bowing to political pressure following its decision to scrap plans to investigate the pay, culture, and behaviour of staff in banking.

The watchdog had been expected to report on whether internal culture had contributed to misconduct across the scandal-ridden sector. But instead, it said Thursday, the FCA will directly work alongside banks to address any issues and ensure "cultural change".

The move was criticised by the consumer body Which. "It's disappointing that the regulator has decided against publishing this report on the culture of banking," said executive director Richard Lloyd.

"Cultural change doesn't happen overnight, so despite signs of improvement, the FCA must not take their eye off the ball and should continue to clean up the industry."

His concerns were shared by Mark Garnier MP, a Conservative member of the Treasury Select Committee, who hinted the Treasury may have had a hand in the decision.

"There's always been this great argument that perhaps the Treasury is having more influence over the regulator than perhaps it ought to," Garnier told the BBC.

"And certainly if I was looking for a Machiavellian plot behind what's happened here and the tone of the regulator then I suppose I would start looking at the Treasury."

An FCA spokesperson told BuzzFeed News that "a focus on the culture in financial services firms remains a priority for the FCA. There is currently extensive ongoing work in this area within firms and externally.

"We have decided that the best way to support these efforts is to engage individually with firms to encourage their delivery of cultural change."

Tony Martin, now 71, was arrested on Thursday, a source, who asked to remain unidentified, confirmed to BuzzFeed News.

Martin shot and killed 16-year-old Fred Barras and wounded Brendon Fearon, 29, with an unlicensed shotgun when he found them in his house in August 1999.

He was convicted of murder before having the conviction reduced to manslaughter on the grounds of diminished responsibility, serving three years in prison.

Norfolk police did not officially refer to Martin by name but said, "As part of a planned operation, a 71-year-old man has been arrested in Wisbech this morning on suspicion of possession of an illegal firearm. He remains in police custody."

The statement added: "A police search of a property in Emneth Hungate is currently being undertaken."

Police said they could not comment on whether a gun had been recovered as the search was ongoing.
