I DM'd with one Twitter user who is a student at the University of Massachusetts: Dartmouth (UMD) and who spoke a lot today, publicly on Twitter, about his relationship with him. He DM'd me back to say that he considers himself friends with the fellow UMD student. He confirmed that @j_tsar IS Tsarnaev's Twitter account, but he asked that he not be brought into this. At least one point this year the person I DM'd with is RT'ed by @j_tsar, so I don't think he's lying about the relationship.

Students Post Moving Tributes To Slain Police Officer Sean Collier
The 26-year-old MIT police officer was shot several times in his vehicle around 10:30 p.m. Thursday night.

MIT has identified the officer shot and killed on Thursday evening as Patrol Officer Sean A. Collier, 26, a native of Somerville, Massachusetts.
Collier responded to a disturbance on campus and died Thursday night after two men fired gunshots at his vehicle. Collier was shot several times in his vehicle around 10:30 p.m. Thursday. He was transported to Massachusetts General Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Collier was a civilian employee of the Somerville Police Department before he became an MIT officer in January 2012. He reportedly got his start in law enforcement by helping police officers transcribe their reports. Somerville Mayor Joseph Curtatone said, "He was an outstanding employee for us. I have no doubt he was also an incredible officer for MIT."
MIT Police Chief John DiFava spoke of a man who was dedicated and well-liked, and who "really looked at police work as a calling." DiFava said, "He was born to be a police officer."
DiFava also reported that Collier was highly involved with MIT's student population. "In a very short period of time, it was remarkable how engaged he was with students, particularly graduate students," DiFava said.

And the Red Sox, the Bruins, and the Celtics have been symbols of resilience and city pride since the bombings on Monday. But, of course, these teams' home games are also massive public gatherings and, therefore, security risks.

Just before the Boston Marathon bombing, the Red Sox played in the annual Patriots' Day game at Fenway Park. Now, the Boston Globe's Nick Cafardo is reporting that, because of the citywide lockdown resulting from the currently ongoing manhunt for Dzhohkar Tsarnaev, tonight's Red Sox game against the Kansas City Royals has been canceled. It would've been the first home game since the bombing.

Is This The Weirdest Possible Way To Eat McDonald's?
What happens when you put a Big Mac, french fries, and Chicken McNuggets in a rice cooker? It's a take on a classic Japanese rice dish called Takikomi Gohan — and it looks delicious.
Takikomi Gohan is sort of the Japanese version of the crock pot meal, where you throw everything together in one pot (in this case, a rice cooker) and it all blends into one melange-y casserole of a meal. Japanese news blog Nikkan-Spa wrote about interesting Takikomi Gohan experiments, one of which involves putting a Big Mac, French fries, Chicken McNuggets, and a Coke into a rice cooker.
According to a rough translation of the Japanese site, this is what they think about McDonald's food: "Flabby, buns texture of potato nuggets and also there is no room for improvement is just the worst. This in the water." As far as the Big Mac goes, it is the taste of "the most evil."
So they've decided to turn a bleak fast food meal into something distinctly Japanese. Here are the directions to properly make a McDonald's Takikomi Gohan.
