Did he really just call five supreme court justices “slut shaming geezers”? Yes, yes he did.

Justice Ruth Bader Ginsberg wrote a 35-page dissent arguing that the decision would "deny legions of women who do not hold their employers' beliefs access to contraceptive coverage."

Jonathan Mann decided to turn it into a song:

The Nymphomaniac star is getting voluntary treatment after a string of bizarre incidents.

Shia LaBeouf after his arrest last week in New York City.

AP Photo/John Minchillo

LaBeouf's rep Melissa Kates said in a statement that contrary to earlier reports, the actor has not entered rehab:

Contrary to previous erroneous reports, Shia LaBeouf has not checked into a rehabilitation facility but he is voluntarily receiving treatment for alcohol addiction.

He understands that these recent actions are a symptom of a larger health problem and he has taken the first of many necessary steps towards recovery.

Rumors that LaBeouf checked into a rehab facility in Los Angeles began circulating earlier this week. Radar Online also reported that LaBeouf was spotted carrying Alcoholics Anonymous literature.

Kates did not elaborate on what kind of lesser treatment LaBeouf is actually getting other than to say it is not rehab.

The revelation that LaBeouf is receiving treatment comes just days after he was arrested in New York City.

LaBeouf was arrested June 26 for criminal trespass and disorderly conduct after he reportedly was smoking and yelling during a performance of Cabaret. He was released the next day. That same day TMZ posted photos of LaBeouf apparently getting into some sort of altercation with a homeless man shortly before his arrest.

On June 27th, Canadian photographer Lindsay Foster captured this amazing photo of new dads BJ Barone and Frankie Nelson holding their baby, Milo, for the first time.

"I had the opportunity to photograph this amazing birth on June 27th for a surrogate and two expecting and anxious daddies. Hours were spent with them in the hospital room while the surrogate mom was laboring and I got to know them quite well," says Lindsay. "They are two compassionate people who felt all the emotions that every new parent feels. They asked all appropriate questions of the birthing mom and the midwife and educated themselves as best as they could for their son's arrival. I am so proud of these two dads."

Milo was born via an unrelated surrogate. "She did not use her own eggs and she was very happy to have given this gift. Her, her husband and two children are all doing great," Lindsay explains.

BJ and Frankie were shirtless when they held Milo for the first time because skin-to-skin contact is said to be beneficial to newborn babies.

"Thank you to everyone out there who has taken the time to like, comment and share our picture! This was truly an incredible moment in our lives that will be captured forever by the lovely Lindsay Foster Photography. We are so lucky that we have a beautiful, healthy baby boy! All comments posted are respected, although we may not agree with the negative ones, the positive ones far outweigh the negative. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion. This is a moment of pure love and acceptance. Milo is surrounded by unconditional love and he will grow up knowing many different types of families and accept everyone, (intolerant people included). Milo was born during World Pride. This picture represents everything Pride is about. Love has no colour nor gender nor sexual preference. Love is unconditional. Thank you again from the bottom of our hearts! xxoo"

30 Bisexual Women Discuss Their Long-Term Relationships With Men

$

A look into the experiences of bisexual women who happened to fall in love with men.

Chris Ritter for BuzzFeed

"I was in a new city, needed a doctor, so filled out my health history, my partners, etc. I've only ever been with my boyfriend and one woman, so it was a big deal when I wrote down that I was bisexual on that form. (At least for me; it was the first time I had identified myself in that way.) A year or so later, when I got pregnant, we went back in to the doctor to confirm and after we had heard our baby's heartbeat for the first time, seen that it was a real being, that our lives were about to change, the nurse comes in to do my examination (my boyfriend had left at this point) and tells me in a sly voice, 'I guess we can cross the bisexual off your chart, can't we? That was just a phase.'"

"I'm a bi/pansexual woman married to a straight man. I grew up in a Christian, conservative family. My parents never said that homosexuality was wrong, but they never really said it was OK either. I think they didn't want to address it. But my church made it clear to me as a young person that it was only OK to be straight. Since I was attracted to boys, I just assumed I was straight and ignored the attraction I felt for girls. I never gave myself the chance to think about it because I was safe where I was.

Shortly before I married my husband, I finally left Christianity behind, for many reasons. This started a period of self-exploration for me. I was finally able to think about who I really am and what I really believe without some old white guy telling me the 'right' answers and condemning me for any deviance. It's been wonderful and freeing. Part of this was learning that I'm not straight. I realized that I was falling in love with one of my female friends (who is also bisexual). I also started to realize that strict monogamy may not be the best idea for me. I would very much like to be able to love more than one person, but my husband is and wants us to remain strictly monogamous. He never even seems to notice anyone else!

I think my parents would accept my bisexuality, especially since I'm married to a man and therefore not actually dating women, but they're still busy processing the fact that I'm not Christian. In a way, marrying a man makes it easy to 'hide.' People just assume you're straight. It can be freeing not to have to worry about people's negative reactions to even just seeing you with your partner. But on the other side of the coin, it makes me sad that I even need to hide or worry about these things."

"I have avoided telling my queer friends that I am in a relationship with a man. It's like coming out all over again and I've experienced resistance against it. It feels like you are mistrusted, that people think you have actively chosen to take the route of most privilege without considering the ways in which you are now held at the margins by the community you most identify with. I am new to this relationship and still trying to navigate how to move through both worlds. Sometimes it means passing depending on the context because it's hard to play the role of educator and/or be on the defense all the time. Even with friends, I've faced microaggressions in the form of jokes: 'How does straightness feel?'"

Why Joel McHale Is The Best Part Of "Deliver Us From Evil"

$
0
0

Who needs spooky when you have a knife-wielding, wise-cracking, Alice in Chains-loving sidekick?

Joel McHale gets sassy with Édgar Ramírez and Eric Bana in Deliver Us From Evil.

Andrew Schwartz/Screen Gems

Deliver Us From Evil is a horror film about Bronx policeman Ralph Sarchie (Eric Bana), who finds himself investigating a demonic possession with the help of sexy former heroin-addict priest Mendoza (Édgar Ramírez). As far as exorcism flicks go, it's depressingly boilerplate stuff — the edgiest aspect is that it claims to be based on the true stories of the real Ralph Sarchie, a former cop who engaged in some demonology on the side, then wrote a book about it.

Director Scott Derrickson, who's slated to helm a Doctor Strange movie for Marvel, has made better horror films before (like 2012's Sinister) — he's even made better based-on-a-true-story exorcism dramas before (2005's The Exorcism of Emily Rose). But there's one thing Deliver Us From Evil, which opens in theaters today, has going for it: Joel McHale, who plays Ralph's wiseass partner Butler, aka the only character in the movie who seems to realize he's in a very silly story being told very seriously. Here's why he's great:

He wears a backwards baseball cap and an Alice in Chains T-shirt.

He wears a backwards baseball cap and an Alice in Chains T-shirt.

Screen Gems

While Ralph is and looks like a character right out of every television police procedural (with added supernatural sensitivity), Butler, for whatever reason, dresses like a nü-metal-loving frat boy. The cap, there to spark an early conversation to reinforce Ralph's extreme New Yorkiness, is a Red Sox one. After putting it on backward (presumably for his own protection in Yankee territory), Butler just leaves it that way for most of the movie. Also, he rocks cargo pants and has the seven deadly sins tattooed on the back of his neck for reasons unrelated to the demonic shenanigans being investigated.

She’s happy, free and no longer confused about the importance of gender equality. At the same time.

Exhibit A: She’s replaced boyfriends with girlfriends.

When was the last time you read about Taylor going on a date? Hint: It's been awhile. She's been too busy creating an adorable girl gang to bother with boys.

Exhibit B: Most of her new BFFs are outspoken, unapologetic feminists.

Taylor hasn't just been surrounding herself with women, she's been surrounding herself with feminists. Outspoken ones at that! Between Tavi, Lorde and Lena Dunham there's no way Taylor still thinks feminism is about pitting "guys versus girls."

Exhibit C: She was spotted buying feminist literature in New York City.
