Tom Hiddleston Wrote Joss Whedon The Most Amazing Email After Reading "The Avengers" Script
Reason 64,785 Tom Hiddleston is the greatest human being alive.
When British actor Tom Hiddleston received the script for The Avengers, a film in which he plays baddie Loki, it’s fair to say he was pretty excited.
So excited he apparently decided to write Joss Whedon a heartfelt email thanking the director for writing him such an incredible part.
The email is being published in Joss Whedon: The Biography, which is out next month but Business Insider has obtained a copy of the exchange.
Joss,
I am so excited I can hardly speak.
The first time I read it I grabbed at it like Charlie Bucket snatching for a golden ticket somewhere behind the chocolate in the wrapper of a Wonka Bar. I didn't know where to start.

Police Officers Commended For Stopping Violent Man While Dressed As Monkey And Zebra
Police constables Tracy Griffin and Terri Cave may be the first officers in the UK to stop a suspect while dressed as exotic animals.
This is Tracy Griffin (left) and Terri Cave, two police officers from West Midlands Police, pictured here getting ready for a party. Shortly after this was taken they apprehended a violent suspect.
The officers were buying drinks and nibbles in a supermarket in Coventry last March when they spotted a man threatening a woman. The pair got a shop worker to call 999 but the man became more aggressive, threatening to kill the woman before chasing her on to a bus.
At this point, still dressed in monkey and zebra outfits, the pair stepped in and challenged the man, before wrestling him to the ground on a busy road. Uniformed officers arrived within six minutes to make the arrest.

On Tuesday the PCs were given a special commendation from chief constable Chris Sims – the highest accolade the force can give for acts of bravery.
Chief Superintendent Alex Murray, from Solihull Police, said in a statement: “There was a lot of interest in this particular case for obvious reasons but, joking apart, PCs Griffin and Cave were faced with a very dangerous man in difficult circumstances and they stepped up to the plate.
“Let’s not lose focus on the risk they exposed themselves to, without any protection – in tackling this man. Whether they were in fancy dress or not – the fact is they chose to put a member of the public’s safety above their own and then cancelled their night out to make sure a professional job was done.”

5 Pieces Of Heartwarming Dad Advice From Stephen Colbert
OUT of character, too!
Rookie has a fantastic video feature called "Ask a Grown Man," in which great guys (past contributors include Seth Rogen, Paul Rudd, Jimmy Fallon, and Thom Yorke) give completely honest answers to teen girls. The latest contributor — STEPHEN COLBERT.
Via rookiemag.com
Question: "When guys, especially teenage guys, do stuff like cat call and make jokes about rape, do they know their behavior is harmful?"
Further wisdom from Colbert: "Does our society educate boys to be misogynistic? It probably doesn't value girls and women as much as it should. Boys probably see that as a signal that they can get away with things. Like devaluing women."
Question: "My dad won't let me sleep at my boyfriend's house ... when I try to discuss it with him, he gets very angry ... I've been with my boyfriend for a year, and my whole family approves of him..."
Further Colbert dadisms: "But [your dad] may think that sex and a relationship aren't the same thing. Maybe he's more traditional."
This Documentary Proves That Muggles Play Quidditch Best
“It’s actually better to be seen as a little weird and be happy than to not be the person you are.”
A new documentary about people who play Quidditch (the Wizarding World's favorite sport) in real life is coming out this October.

And even the trailer has us excited:
"No one can really call us nerds when we're out there," one Quidditch player said.
Bond360 / Via youtube.com
The film is called Mudbloods, which is originally a derogatory term in the Harry Potter series.
"Over the course of shooting our film, we discovered that UCLA team captain Tom Marks was jokingly called a Mudblood by his brother because he started the non-magical sport of Quidditch at his school," Farzad Sangari (director) and Eric F. Martin (writer and producer) told BuzzFeed. "However, rather than shy away from the original meaning of the word, Mudbloods came to represent real-life Quidditch players in a unique and appropriate way."
"The reappropriation of this word distinguishes a group of fearless, resilient individuals with the audacity and imagination necessary to take a fictional game from a book series and make it real," they continued.

This Couple Took An Amazing Indiana Jones-Themed Photo To Celebrate Their 21st Wedding Anniversary
Is there a better way to celebrate over two decades of adventure?
Meet Ken Thomas, he's a wildlife enthusiast and an amateur photographer from North Carolina. He's also got a totally bad ass personal style.

In June, Ken bought a 2014 Ural Gear-Up, which is pretty close to the type of motorcycle Indiana Jones rides in Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade.
Which worked perfectly for the photo he and his wife Vicki took to celebrate their 21st anniversary.

16 Reasons To Embrace Your Bush
Let it run wild and free!
Bush-shaving was popularized by advertisers. Your privates are not a billboard!
No body hair removal of any kind was common in North American women until Gilette started marketing the "Milady" razor in 1915. Pube scholar Magdala Peixoto Labre writes that during this period, magazines "extensively disseminated the ideal of hairless white feminine beauty." Capitalism wants you to think your body is gross and you need to change it. This is very rude, so capitalism will not be invited to my birthday party this year.

The rise of bald stylings seems correlated with the rise of internet porn.
In the '80s and into the '90s, Playboy, for example, was full of luxuriant bush. Internet porn, with its emphasis on close-up shots and movement, apparently encourages bushwhacking because it's easier to see stuff on a small computer screen without pubic hair in the way.

It’s not your standard bridal fantasy.

Miley Cyrus Instagrammed Kathleen Hanna And The Internet Freaked Out
Looks like someone watched The Punk Singer on Netflix last night.

15 Songs You Never Realized Were About Bottoming
This is completely accurate and true.
"Dark Side" by Kelly Clarkson
Why it's definitely about bottoming:
"Will you stay
Even if it hurts
Even if I try to push you out
Will you return?
And remind me who I really am
Please remind me who I really am"
What this means: Kelly is highlighting and bringing attention to a common bottom issue. That issue being "keeping it in."
"Passenger" by Britney Spears
Why it's definitely about bottoming:
"Yeah that's right
Now I can just enjoy the riiiiiiiiiiiiiiiide
I'll let you lead the way now
'Cause I want you to take the wheel
I've never been a passenger though
I never knew how good it could feel"
What this means: Ah, "Passenger" from the criminally underrated and misunderstood Britney Jean. While many believe this song is about Jesus Christ, those people are wrong. It's about a top bottoming for the first time.
"Try" by P!nk
Why it's definitely about bottoming:
"Where there is desire
There is gonna be a flame
Where there is a flame
Someone's bound to get burned
But just because it burns
Doesn't mean you're gonna die
You've gotta get up and try, and try, and try
Gotta get up and try, and try, and try
You gotta get up and try, and try, and try"
What this means: P!nk obviously understands and feels the pain a bottom can encounter. She's empowering bottoms by telling them to fight past the burn, you're not gonna die, "try try try."
"Only Girl" by Rihanna
Why it's definitely about bottoming:
"Want you to take me like a thief in the night
Hold me like a pillow, make me feel right
Baby I'll tell you all my secrets that I'm keepin', you can come inside
And when you enter, you ain't leavin', be my prisoner for the night
Want you to make me feel like I'm the only girl in the world
Like I'm the only one that you'll ever love
Like I'm the only one who knows your heart
Only girl in the world...
Like I'm the only one that's in command
Cause I'm the only one who understands, like I'm the only one who knows your heart"
What this means: This song was written for power bottoms. The "be my prisoner for the night" and "like the only one that's in command" lines are proof of that.
