How To Fall Without Hurting Yourself When Ice Skating
Let two-time World bronze medalist Michael Weiss show you the ~safe~ way to fall. (Because we’re all going to fall.)
Wintertime means ~fun~ seasonal activities, like ice skating and sledding. But the not-so-fun part about winter is trying to figure out how to not fall and break every bone in your body when you inevitably hit up the rink with friends.
So in an effort to help lessen gigantic bruises and broken bones, we asked Michael Weiss, figure skater and host of the Colgate Skating Series on ABC, to break down the steps to falling ~safely~.

Step 1: Lean slightly forward and bend your knees.
Michael Weiss: You never want to have your weight back, stomach out, and stiff legs. This will certainly lead to falling backwards — which is the worst way to fall, as you don’t have your hands to absorb the fall, and it leaves you exposed to hitting the back of your head.

Step 2: Place your hands on the ice to break your fall.
MW: When you do fall, it’s best to go on hands and knees first. Keep your arms out in front of you so you can catch your fall, and absorb the impact with your hands.

Updated: Author reveals a plot that was cut from the books.
J.K. Rowling has posted the first of 12 new Harry Potter "moments" on her website, Pottermore.
In the 12 days leading up to Christmas Eve, new Harry Potter content will be released daily on the site. The site's official blog said:
