The pride of Great Britain lost to Roger Federer in the Wimbledon final three weeks ago, and looked as dejected as any athlete ever has. Today, Murray beat Federer in the Olympic gold medal match on the same court. Joy ensued.

Fox News: Shouldn't Our Athletes Love America More?

$

The cable news network is apparently worried that neither the American public nor our Olympic athletes are taking enough pride in our dominance in London. What?

So Fox News decided to weigh in on the Olympics. What angle do you think they took? The fact that the US is currently number one in the medal count, proving that President Obama's "socialist" policies must be failures, because we're beating all the socialist countries? Or maybe they took issue with the fact that Michelle Obama is spending so much time in London. Nope, they went even crazier.

Source: youtube.com

Rough Translation: Sure Gabby Douglas did the United States proud by kicking ass in London, but can you believe she did it in "hot pink"? And sure, Americans are excited about winning medals, but couldn't they be more excited? And honestly, the athletes on the podium are wearing gray tracksuits. Last time I checked, our flag isn't red, gray, and blue!

The bottom line is apparently that we're great. And dammit we should be acting like it. And no, cheering for our Olympians who are dominating competitions isn't enough. No, we need to chant U-S-A all the time. Why aren't you chanting it right now?! CHANT!

A Tragic History Of Hate Crimes Against Sikhs In The U.S.

$

Although the motives of the shooter in Wisconsin this morning are not yet clear, there is a bloody history of violence towards Sikhs in the United States since 9/11. Sikhism is a peaceful religion and its primary principles include equality and justice for all.

September 15, 2001 – Mesa, Arizona

49-year-old gas station owner Balbir Singh Sodhi was fatally shot. Frank Silva Roque, the shooter, mistakenly believed Sodhi was Muslim because of the clothes he wore, his turban, and his beard. Within 25 minutes of his death, the Phoenix police reported four further attacks on people who either were Middle Easterners or who dressed with clothes thought to be worn by Middle Easterners. Frank Silva Roque was convicted and sentenced to the death penalty, but the Arizona Supreme Court overturned the sentence for life in prison, citing an extremely low IQ and mental illness. On August 4, 2002, Balbir's brother Sukhpal was shot to death while driving a cab in San Francisco. It did appear that his shooting was an accident — a stray bullet from a nearby gang fight. Balbir's son, Sukhwinder, was asked about the second tragedy and said "What are you going to do with anger? We like peace and we are a peaceful people."

Dec 12, 2001 – Los Angeles, California

47-year-old Surinder Singh Sidhi was beaten by two men who entered his store, accused him of being Osama bin Laden, and beat him with metal poles. They said, "We'll kill bin Laden today," then hit him over twenty times with the poles. "The crime was regrettable but not surprising," Kirtan-Singh Khalsa, spokesman for the Khalsa Council, an international council for Sikh affairs, said. "We're deeply concerned by this event. But we are not shocked. Sikhs are accustomed to ridicule because of wearing turbans."

February 19, 2002 – Palermo, New York

Three 18-year-old boys and one 19-year-old girl burned down the Sikh temple Gobinde Sadan. The teens told authorities that they believed the temple was named "Go Bin Laden."

May 20, 2003 – Phoenix, Arizona

Avtar Singh, 52, a Sikh immigrant, was shot and wounded. Sigh parked his 18-wheeler in Phoenix and called his son to pick him up. While he was waiting, at least two young white men pulled up and started yelling. Singh said "I hear that voice: 'Go back to where you belong to.' And at the same time I heard the shot."

Cable news networks covering the shooting at a Sikh temple in Wisconsin emphasized to their viewers that Sikhs are not Muslims, a confusion CNN described as unfair. Sometimes-violent anti-Muslim sentiment is pretty much taken for granted at this point.

Ryan Lochte's Mother Won't Let Him Help Her With Foreclosure

After a TMZ report showing Ike Lochte was facing foreclosure on her Florida home, the swimmer's rep said she's “taking care” of the lawsuit without money from her famous son.

Olympic swimmer Ryan Lochte's mother won't "take money from her kids" in fighting off foreclosure, Lochte's spokeswoman told BuzzFeed after TMZ reported on the Florida family's debt crisis.

Lochte's parents are "taking care of" the debt, the spokeswoman, Erika Wright, said, and they had hoped to avoid publicity during their son's Olympic run.

"After her divorce, Ike fell into financial strain like many people in America can understand when the economy went south," Wright wrote in an email. "She did not want to involve her children in her personal matters and did not disclose the extent of the situation to avoid them worrying."

TMZ Saturday posted court records showing Steve and Ike Lochte failed to make payments on a $258,000 mortgage loan taken from CitiBank. The loan, according to the lawsuit, was taken out before the swimmer's parents filed for divorce in 2010. The swimmer's mom, Ike Lochte, has filed to dismiss the suit, but that motion is still pending.

Ike Lochte has been a popular presence during the Olympic games where her son has grabbed two gold, two silver and a bronze medal.

While Ryan Lochte has numerous lucrative endorsements, Wright said his mother did not want to accept any assistance in untangling her financial woes.

"She has since refused to accept financial assistance from her children because she wants to do what she can as a woman, mother and adult to handle her own matters without taking money from her kids," Wright added. "It's a shame that the media had to exploit her own personal problems to gain attention at her expense simply because her son is in the news. However she is in the process of taking care of the matter as evidenced by the filing of a motion to dismiss."

Watch the livestream:

The landing includes a so-called “seven minutes of terror,” followed by confirmation of a safe landing in the form of a computer-code beep (it's the end of "Say Anything" all over again), followed by black and white photos just a few minutes after the landing. early Wednesday morning, we're expected to have our first high-resolution color photographs. This is is the first mission to look for extraterrestrial life on Mars since the 1970s, and is the most expensive mission to another planet ever undertaken.
