Here's the context: Dwayne (Paul Dano) has found out that he's colour-blind, which means that he cannot reach his dream of being a test pilot. Frank (Steve Carrell), his uncle, has experienced depression. They're at the end of a pier while they wait for a nearby beauty pageant to conclude.
It's made me reevaluate how terrible feelings can actually be a catalyst for good things in the long term.
