Abandoned since 1974, this small island off the coast of Japan was once a coal mining facility and home for it's workers. Hashima, also known as Gunkanjima (Battleship Island) plays host to the the villainous Raoul Silva (played by Javier Bardem) in the newest Bond film Skyfall .
