Here's What Happened When Dudes Tried On Sanitary Pads
“There’s no healthy breeze around my privates anymore.”
Menstruation in India is quite a taboo topic, and kept hush-hush like a secret being kept from men. As a small step toward normalising what, for women, is a monthly mundanity, BuzzFeed got dudes to try on sanitary pads.
BuzzFeed India
I was one of those dudes. Hello.

Here’s What Happened When I Pitted Luxury and Budget Eyeliners Against Each Other
The results were truly eye-opening.
Rebecca Hendin / BuzzFeed
I discovered the transformative power of cat-eye liner as a teen and haven't really altered my makeup since. Instead, I've focused on the quality of the products themselves to level up my makeup game.
Like many other people who are equally addicted to transforming themselves with a thick black line across one's eyelid, I am in search of the perfect liquid eyeliner. So, I tried out 8 different ones, ranging in price from £1.50 to £43, to see how much of a difference there is between liquid eyeliners available on the market.
* Packaging (Is it pretty and portable?)
* Ease of application (How easy and convenient is it to use?)
* Depth of colour (Is it the same deep black of my soul or a just a faint grey line?)
* Smoothness (The texture of the formula; does it go crusty and flaky?)
* Durability (Does it stay put all day or start migrating across my face or simply disappear?)
* Value for money (Is it worth the money you pay for it?)
Additionally, I didn't wear any primer or eyeshadow with the eyeliners, partially because I am lazy, but mostly not to interfere with the eyeliner's own lasting power. I also didn't retouch any makeup throughout the day.

This Is What Tech Companies Do With Leftover Free Food
Silicon Valley companies offer their employees an enormous amount of free catered meals. This is what they do to prevent food waste.
Google's offices in Mountain View and Sunnyvale work with a program called Chefs to End Hunger. In Mountain View alone, Google has more than 39 cafes. The food goes to an East Bay nonprofit called Hope for the Heart, which distributes food to soup kitchens and the like. "Most of our food goes to a transitional homeless housing center in Oakland where residents do the finish food prep and participate in meals," a Google spokesperson told BuzzFeed News. In the next month, a "large number" of Google's chefs will work at shelters "to further help them understand the importance of what they are doing." In order to minimize potential waste, Google kitchens around the globe use a tool called LeanPath.

Twitter donates both catered and boxed food to Food Runners San Francisco, a non-profit that relays more than 5,000 meals a day in the city through a network of volunteers. The program was initiated by Bon Appetit Management Company, an established corporate caterer that manages on-site restaurants for other Bay Area tech offices as well, including PayPal, Oracle, Adobe. Twitter told BuzzFeed News that the program to donated started at its old office on Folsom Street and that it donates from all of its cafes at its Mid-Market headquarters.
Dropbox
At its San Francisco headquarters, Dropbox's in house food programs serves more than 1,000 people everyday. The company does not participate in a regular food-recovery program but a spokesperson said leftovers were "repurposed into other food items" and put into "pizza toppings or soup ingredients." The spokesperson said Dropbox makes a lot of its food to-order and "definitely very organized of minimizing waste and making sure we find ways of incorporating leftovers." As for Dropbox's popular sushi offerings, the spokesperson pointed out that the kitchen uses salmon bellies from fish for other dishes for its sashimi rolls. During the holidays, Dropbox works with San Francisco City Impact, which collects perishables from the company's Soma headquarters.

Little Girls Are Ruining Their Hair With This Hot New Toy
“Her butt-length hair is now chin length. I was lucky to save that much.”
It's nearly Christmas time again, which means parents across the U.S. will soon be fighting to scoop up the hottest new toys of the year for their kids.
This year, one of the trendiest toys is called Bunchems. The toy consists of a bunch of little plastic balls, which kids can connect together to create different shapes.
The toy, which was created by a toy company called Spin Master, launched earlier this year, Arlene Biran, the company's vice president of marketing, said in a statement to BuzzFeed News.
"Since Spin Master launched Bunchems in August 2015, we have received an overwhelmingly positive response from children, parents, and industry partners," Biran said.
But angry parents are taking to the internet to warn others that the fun little balls don't just stick to each other — they will also stick to your kid's hair.
Jaymee McKinnies, who took this photo of her daughter Aubrey, told BuzzFeed News her daughter has gotten the toy stuck in her hair twice. The first time she stuck a creation in her hair, and the second time she did a flip and landed on one.
"Unfortunately the toy she bought with her own money ended up in the trash can," she said.
