This Is How Cafés And Restaurants Should Treat Breastfeeding Mums
The Brasserie Blanc restaurant in Cheltenham went viral after offering mums a free cup of tea if they are breastfeeding. Quite right, too.
Last week this picture of a sign hung outside the Cheltenham branch of the Brasserie Blanc restaurant chain went around the world.
I made her a cup of tea and she looked like I'd given her a million pounds.
I'd have done it ages ago if I'd known it would make people feel more confident.
Sometimes you just need to sit down with your baby. Not everyone is as confident, and it's not as easy for everyone. You can't just sit on a park bench sometimes.
We've had an unbelievable response. We've got emails from all over the place.
How Does It Actually Feel When Your Partner Miscarries?
A project by University College London and the Miscarriage Association collected the experiences of partners of women who miscarried. Here are some of those stories.

It felt like eternity sitting watching the static screen waiting for the ultrasound technician to get someone in for second opinion. Confirmed miscarriage. Numbness. Probably the single saddest, most gut-wrenching moment of my life.
More than 1 in 5 pregnancies end in miscarriage. The partners of women who miscarry can feel invisible, ignored, and sidelined. They are often unable to talk about their own feelings of loss and pain.

A Mother And Son Took A Selfie On The Doomed Malaysia Airlines Flight Just Before Takeoff
Almost 300 people died when the plane crashed last week.
Dutch teenager Gary Slok and his mother, Petra Langeveld, reportedly took this selfie moments before Malaysia Airlines Fight MH17 took off from Amsterdam on 17 July.
A few hours later the plane crashed in Ukraine, killing all 298 people on board.
According to the Mirror, 15-year-old Slok and his mother were travelling to Kuala Lumpur on a trip for single parents and their children.
The teenager played in goal for his local football side in Maassluis and the club has paid tribute to him.

Gary and his mum Petra were on their way to Malaysia to have the dream holiday of their life.
Sadly they never got the chance to fulfil that dream.
But his story and his last picture tell you how dreams of many people with wonderful lives ahead of them have been wrecked.
Pro-Russian separatists have been blamed for downing the Malaysia Airlines plane and continue to control the crash site.
Moscow has denied allegations it provided the rebels with weapons allegedly used to down the jet.

This Is The Coke Bottle Label Every "Simpsons" Fan Needs
Especially if they’ve run out of license plates.
Every Simpsons fan knows this scene. It's likely some have considered naming their child after it. Or at least changing their license plate.
FOX
So imagine finding this Coke Zero bottle in a store...
Tragically, it's a photoshop by kee440, so it isn't real.
But Coca-Cola should probably correct that.

Johns Hopkins To Pay $190 Million After Gynecologist Secretly Videotaped Women
A gynecologist secretly used a tiny camera to take photos of patients, leading one of the top medical centers to pay $190 million to 8,000 women and girls.
Dr. Nikita Levy was fired after 25 years with the Johns Hopkins Health System in Baltimore in February 2013 after a female co-worker spotted a pen-like camera he wore around his neck and alerted authorities.

Levy committed suicide by wrapping his head in a plastic bag with a hose connected to a helium tank. Because of his suicide, no criminal charges were ever brought.
Lawyers said that thousands of women were impacted, even though their faces were not visible and it could not be determined specifically which women were photographed.
At least 62 girls were among the victims, and Levy violated protocol by sending chaperones out of the exam room, plaintiffs' attorney Howard Janet said.
"All of these women were brutalized by this," said their lead attorney, Jonathan Schochor.
He said women reported being inappropriately touched and verbally abused by Levy. He said women were regularly summoned to Levy's office for unnecessary pelvic exams.

Turns Out, These People Had No Idea What Sex Was When They Were Kids
“Before I had any idea what sex was, I thought it was some kind of secret club that only had a couple members, including my parents and some movie stars.”
First, we asked women to share the misconceptions they had about sex when they were younger. Turns out, they were completely clueless for at least the first decade and a half of their lives.

Then, we asked guys the same questions. They were equally clueless.

12 Reasons "Celeste And Jesse Forever" Is The Best Break-Up Movie Ever
Spoiler: This does not include “because they got back together.”
Celeste and Jesse Forever came out in 2012 and since then has remained the most underrated, best break-up film, ever.
At first glance, this movie might seem like your typical lovers-become-friends heart-hurting Rom-Com (for lack of a better, more cliche genre), and essentially, it is.
Except that it isn't. Because it's so much more than that.
Sony Picture Classics
Firstly, Andy Samberg plays Jesse.
His character isn't buff, successful or played by Ryan Gosling, but I'll be damned if he isn't the most loveable male protagonist to ever bless a screen.
Sony Picture Classics / Via pinterest.com
Rashida Jones is in it too. She plays Celeste. (Jesse's ex-wife, if you didn't already guess.)
Beyond playing a female character who has somehow managed to be a total babe while still managing the best career of anyone in the movie, Rashida is the greatest in real-life too, quoted this year as saying: "There's more than one way to be a woman and be sexy."
It's not surprising - but still beyond impressive - that Rashida was one of the writers of the film.

The couple's friend's lives don't revolve around their break-up.
Sure, they're there when Celeste and Jesse have their expected life meltdowns, but beyond that, their best friends act like regular humans do when their mates are breaking-up - by generally continuing on with their own lives, while offering occasional advice and assistance when you've decided to drink way too much at a social event.

21 Secrets British Jews Won't Tell You
I’m going to be a mensch and let you in on a few things.
We've been around for 3,000 years, but we still don't know how to describe all the different types of Jews.
They keep Shabbat most of the time, but they'll tear the toilet paper. And I think they're like veggie-kosher, you know?

We go to charity events to pull.
Sorry, not sorry.

And we know that if we actually want to marry a Jew, the maths doesn't look great.
If you factor in the number of Jews in the UK, consider how similar they are to you in terms of religiosity, and then think about their looks, sense of humour, and intelligence, you realise you've got 200 people to choose from in your whole life ever.
New Line Cinema / ic.pics.livejournal.com
We're not sure if having sex through a sheet is a thing.
We're pretty sure it's not, but there are so many different kinds of Jews that it's entirely plausible.

Someone Combined Red Lobster And Chick-Fil-A To Make The Ultimate Chicken Biscuit
“Every once in awhile a revolutionary product comes along that changes everything.” —Steve Jobs
This, friends, is a cheddar chicken biscuit. It is 50% Red Lobster cheddar bay biscuit, 50% Chick-Fil-A fried chicken filet, 100% OMGHOWHASTHISNOTBEENDONEBEFORE.
It is sold at neither Chick-Fil-A nor Red Lobster, but rather came into existence out of the sheer willpower of three San Francisco residents.
Kunaal Arya
It all began when three friends discussed taking a road trip out of San Francisco so that they could eat at Red Lobster.
(San Jose is not eight hours away from San Francisco. This is comedic hyperbole.)

BUT THEN THANKS TO BRITTANY SOMETHING AMAZING OCCURRED:

Less than 24 hours later, the group executed their plan.

"It Wasn't Us!" Russian Generals Scour The Internet For MH17 Theories
At an eerie Cold War-style press conference, Russia suggested Ukraine or the U.S. might have downed the plane.
DONETSK, Ukraine — Russian generals dismissed Ukrainian and U.S. accusations that Moscow-backed separatists shot down Malaysia Airlines Flight 17 last week. Instead they offered several theories intimating Kiev and Washington were responsible at an eerie Cold War-style press conference on Monday, aired on state TV. The defiant tone — struck in the face of mounting international criticism — suggests the Kremlin is prepared for further global confrontation over the downing of the Boeing 777, which killed all 298 on board.
With their voices booming over loudspeakers around an empty roundtable as crude graphics whirred on a massive screen behind them, the generals offered a version of the plane's last few minutes wildly at odds with the evidence provided by the Ukrainian and U.S. governments. Andrei Karatolov, a deputy air force general, laid out several, often conflicting, scenarios that he claimed showed Ukraine could have been responsible for the plane's crash.

Sky News Reporter Apologises For Picking Up MH17 Crash Victims' Luggage: "I Had Lost It."
Colin Brazier writes a heartfelt apology in the Guardian for his “error of judgement”.
Two days ago Sky News apologised after reporter Colin Brazier did this at the MH17 crash site.
Today Brazier has written an apology in the Guardian.
I bent down and, what my Twitter critics cannot hear – because of the sound quality of internet replays of the broadcast – is that I had lost it. It is a cardinal sin of broadcasting, in my book anyway, to start blubbing on-air. I fought for some self-control, not thinking all that clearly as I did so.
Too late, I realised that I was crossing a line. I thought aloud: 'We shouldn't be doing this… This is a mistake,' an instant apology that was only selectively quoted by those determined to see what I did as a powerful example of journalistic vulturism.
